Oh boy. So saying my vacation lasted quite a while longer then originally expected would be a gross understatement, and man it is a lot harder to get back into the swing of things after such a long break then I thought it would be. But at last here I am, if only for today to come back and tell you all that I AM STILL HERE!
To update you all on the house hunting, we did find a place to call home! A lovely one at that. Four level split, four bedroom plus den, TWO living rooms, a whole lot of awesome! Most exciting part, for me, is having my very own office and of course a whole entire area that we can dedicate to the girls. A toy paradise that does not have to interfere with my living space. A whole living room to themselves to play and make messes without the worry of mommy’s brain exploding.
Of course I could tell right away what Jeff’s favorite part about this place would be, when we settled down on one of our first nights here, and the first thing he did was knock loudly on the living room wall.
Jeff: “Do you hear that?”
Me: “Ummm… you knocking?”
Jeff: “That’s the sound of not having to share a wall with someone else!”
That is right! We found ourselves a full house. No town house complex, no duplex, no painfully attempting to get the children to be quiet so as not to disturb the next-wall-neighbors.
Soooooo, needless to say there was a lot of packing, and then obviously unpacking. Between that, the initial house hunting previous to that, and visits from my sister and her whole fam jam, Jeff’s friend, and my parents visit… well it was a fairly busy summer.
We moved into the “castle house”, as Chelsie likes to refer to it as, in mid August. Then there was the task of making it our home. Followed shortly by getting the bug registered in grade 2 at a brand new school and of course the start of a brand new school year!
Chelsie’s birthday, the big ol’7, was right smack at the beginning of the school year as well, and we collectively decided on letting her have her birthday party mid September to allow her to make and invite new friends. And bing bang boom, here we are today!
So my hopes are high that I can get myself back on the swing here with The Dissocial Mom and get you all some super awesome posts written up here in the near future, HOWEVER I have decided that I am going to go about it in a more go-with-the-flow-ish kind of way. I will let loose the bloggy strings a little bit and just let myself write and publish posts whenever I darn well please. That old dissocial mom was such a schedule dictator, with her “You must post a new post on every Saturday and only Saturday!” So I say fare well to her and hello to the new rebel do-what-I-want dissocial mom! What do ya think?
Now having said all this I am going to cut this little reunion short. I just want to say one last thing and that is a HUGE thank you to all of you who wrote to me or commented on my pre-existing-posts while I was away. It really felt wonderful to come back knowing that I still had some wonderful readers and fellow bloggers out there who didn’t completely forget about me during my extended hiatus. So thank you very very much!
And away I go!
See you…. well, when I see you! (I know, it feels so invigorating, like I am such a free spirit!)
P.S During the curfuffle of the big move I seem to have misplaced the cord which allows me to get pictures from my camera onto my computer, so the lack of lovely pictures I apologize for. Will hopefully find it soon. Until then I will have to settle on phone pictures, of which the quality is not that great. BUT the new rebel dissocial mom says to heck with slightly-better-quality-photos! Onward with cell phone ones!!
